From membership systems and communications platforms to business tools and media projects, every venture begins with the same principle: identify the problem, build the solution, and make it practical.

Let's Build Something Useful.

Whether you're managing members, improving communications, growing a business or developing a new idea, practical solutions start with understanding the problem first.

About Carl

The person behind
the name.

Carl Birkenshaw writing at the piano

I'm Carl Birkenshaw. I've spent 39 years inside the UK home improvement industry — not watching from the sidelines, but running sales teams, building companies, closing deals and getting things done at every level.

I was a director at Pennine Home Improvements for four years before selling my shares. Eight years later, a long-time friend who'd bought the business asked me to come back. I came back because standards mattered — and because I'd found a better way to build.

Somewhere along the way I became a builder of digital tools. Not because I studied software — but because I could see problems that needed solving and I'd learned to use modern AI tools to solve them fast.

"Every product I build starts with a problem I've already lived."

I'm also a Freemason, a Deputy Communications Officer for the Province of Northumberland, and a published musician. The through-line across all of it is the same: see a problem clearly, then do something about it.
